October 21, 2015 This is the beginning of my new website. For those who have followed, this is the 3rd version of JonathanHartman.net. The decision was driven by a need for a more robust blog feature, as well as the ability to showcase projects in a more cohesive way, with video and soundtrack playlists incorporated together with project information. Something the former site lacked, and was awkward at handling. I have a lot of incredible projects coming up, and thought it best to update the site before we were too deep into composing nonstop! Plenty of updates to come throughout the fall. 2016 looks very promising, with 3 pilots, a possible series, and 3 feature films already on the calendar. So bear with us as we update the site and get it fully functional!
This Last Lonely Place, now available on demand online Nov 10, 2104 THIS LAST LONLY PLACE is now available to watch via streaming and non-DRM download! I recently scored This Last Lonely Place, starring Rhys Coiro, Xander Berkeley, & Carly Pope. You can watch the film at: http://www.thislastlonelyplace.com Leonard Martin describes This Last Last Lonely Place as “A taut, surprising, compelling film noir. Well-acted and extremely well shot on the streets of Los Angeles at night. I thoroughly enjoyed it!” Directed by Steve Anderson and produced by Industry Standard films and Humphrey Bogart’s revitalized Santana Films. It was a real pleasure to score this film and I’m glad everyone can now have an opportunity to see it! Jonathan’s latest film, ”This Last Lonely Place” (2014), features lush orchestral melodies, jazz, as well as distorted textures and guitars. A crime drama, the film is about a down on his luck cab driver (Rhys Coiro) that has picked up a desperate man & his mistress, running from a murder. As the night spirals out of the driver’s control, it’s unclear who will make it out alive. “The film presented so many wonderful opportunities to explore musical texture and color”, says Jonathan. “There were so[…]
The Humphrey Bogart Estate’s production company will offer fans the chance to see it early Sep 22, 2014 Fans of Humphrey Bogart-style noir will soon have a few ways to get their movie fix. Santana Films is releasing This Last Lonely Place via Indiegogo for fans wanting to see it early — and then will make it available online for streaming or download at www.thislastlonelyplace.com via VHX, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. Santana Films, which is run by Bogart’s estate and filmmaker Steve Anderson, is making their film available DRM-free beginning Oct. 28 after the Indiegogo campaign concludes. Anderson, who directed This Last Lonely Place, is calling it an opportunity to link Bogart’s old-world sensibility with new-world distribution opportunities. “We’re excited. It just feels like the right thing to do,” said Anderson. “This film was born from a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, and now we will use Indiegogo in a new way — as a release platform —to bring the film directly to our audience, forgoing the traditional film festival route.” The film, which stars Rhys Coiro (Entourage), Xander Berkeley (24), and Carly Pope (Elysium), was shot in Los Angeles, California. It centers on a cab driver who unwittingly gets involved in helping an investment banker cover up a crime. “We’ve had opportunities and[…]

Nov 25, 2013 Our Proof of Concept Star Wars piece, “The Apprentice” was featured today on a number of websites. First it showed up on Kotaku. Very cool! Then by mid morning, it was noticed by the Washington Post. The head of Lucasfilm was very kind towards us and this project, and had no issues with sharing it with the world, as long as we included a disclaimer on this. While never created as a pitch for a specific film, it was a proof of concept, showing the Lucasfilm people our team’s abilities, and love of the Star Wars world.
Nov 13, 2013 Star Wars, The Apprentice I recently had the opportunity to work with director/editor Todd Sandler on an amazing Star Wars proof of Concept. You can view this in the Video section of my website!
